Brenda has been teaching at the Early Learning Center since 2010. She grew up in New Jersey, just miles from the Jersey Shore, and attended Rutgers University where she earned a BS in Civil Engineering. She worked in that field for about 10 years concentrating in storm water management and drainage design. During that time she married and moved to Albuquerque, NM. She took a “career break” when she had her children and enjoyed being out of the office and a stay home mom.
Brenda's children, Evan and Lindsay, are now teenagers. Her husband is an engineer in the semiconductor industry. They moved here from Albuquerque in 2006 and are happy to be back on the east coast and closer to their families. Brenda has spent many hours volunteering at her children’s elementary school and was a Girl Scout leader for 5 years.
Brenda's daughter went to MPC ELC for 2 years and that's how she became aquainted with the preschool. She thought then what a great school this was and what a great place it would be to work. The atmosphere was always bright, happy and welcoming and the teachers patient, caring and creative. She began working here when her daughter was in 1st grade and was very happy to become part of the teaching profession, since it was something she always wanted to do.
Brenda has worked in many ELC classrooms over the years. In previous years, she taught our youngest students in Parents’ Morning Out and felt lucky to have been able to give them their first taste of preschool and to introduce them to the wonderful world that is the Early Learning Center! She is now excited to be working in the office as the Assistant Director.
